Questions about applyDefaultValues param

Hello!

We found that it's not possible to change default values of fields (ex. checkboxes, multiselect, radiobuttons) if they were set up by admin. We know that there's an applyDefaultValues param, but we have a few questions about it:

1) Is it ok to use applyDefaultValues param cause it's not documented?

2) Which versions of Jira support this param?
