Push Notification on Jira

I have an application where I am intended to link it to Jira. 

Using Jira rest WS, I am able to retrieve all issues using jql and search. But I am wondering if there is a way so that Jira pushes the notifications to my application instead of pooling using the Rest WS.

Is there a way on how to subscribe to the notification process where I can provide my Endpoint that should be called?
