Pull stories into a sprint from outside backlog

Hi

We have a workflow defined that has a number of steps before a sprint starts (e.g. refinement). We put stories in these states to get them ready for a sprint

When I go to plan a spring in the backlog view it only show items with a backlog status that can be dragged into a sprint

Is it possible to customise this view to show other status?

Thanks

Jerry

Hi @Jerry O_Sullivan,

Both your backlog AND the columns on the active sprint view of your board are mapped to statuses of your workflow. Only issues in those statuses will be shown in the respective columns (backlog or columns on the board).

So no, you cannot display issues in the backlog if they are not in a status mapped to that backlog (or board column).

It may happen that certain issues (e.g. tasks) do not need to go through the same workflow steps as a story before they are ready to be added in a sprint. In that case, it may be a good solution to set up a separate workflow for that specific issue type that starts with your backlog status (and is simpler than your story workflow) or let your users push tasks immediately into the status mapped to your backlog.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Walter Buggenhout

I got it working by setting the Ready for Dev status as a ToDo state. For reference My workflow is something like

Backlog - RefinementStages - Ready For Sprint Planning - Ready for Dev - In Progress - Done
