Project says deleted...but it wasn't deleted

I was updating user access on a project. When I went back to the project, I get 'this project isn't available - it may have been deleted or your permissions have changed'. However, I never deleted it (and neither did anyone else). I can still navigate through the project settings and see the project in my dashboard, but can't access the boards in the project. I'm an admin for our JIRA but my developers can no longer see the project at all.

Any ideas?

i wonder if may have been 'archived' by changing the permission scheme. if you are an admin and can get to the project check the permissions.

All the permissions look normal...I had gone to 'People' and added a group as a User so I could assign tickets to them on the board, and when I went back the project said it was deleted.
