Hi Community
Within my Jira Software project, I need to find a way to edit a column directly into the issues list of that project
If I go to Project/myproject/Issues there is a list of all the issues with the chance to add more columns to the visualization.
In particular there are some of them with the pencil botton, where the user can directly edit into the list a specific issue.
But there are columns like "description" that they're not editable in the list
How can I make the columns in the list editable?
thanks
... and just to put it out there: If you're looking for an immediate resolution and are open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a long list of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
This is how it looks in action:
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
welcome to the community!
To the best of my understanding, only certain columns are currently inline-editable in Jira's issue search experience. There's no configuration option that I'm aware of.
Best,
Hannes
