Project View in JIRA

Open tickets are not showing correctly on Project.  Upgraded to new version of JIRA and when I started new sprint, the parent ticket is showing on the screen. Don't want the parent ticket, just the child ticket should show up on screen.  See below.  Need to know how to fix this.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

You are seeing the parent issues listed on the board like that because your board configuration is set to use swimlanes that group sub-tasks under their parent issue. If you click on Board > Configure > Swimlanes you can turn it off by setting Base swinlanes on to No Swimlanes.
