Hi, I was given the following export files to test importing two projects into an new Jira instance. Jira version 10.3.15 on Windows Server.
1) A ZIP file created by the project export of Project Configurator plugin, consists of config.xml & data.zip. Note that this is created without including attachment.
2) Separate attachment folders of the two projects in this file structure:
Folder PROJA --
sub-folder 10000 --
sub-folders of each issues PROJA-XXXX
Folder PROJB--
sub-folder 10000 & 20000 --
sub-folders of each issues PROJB-XXXX
In the new Jira, I installed Project Configurator (PC) plugin as well to import the ZIP file , the project import went well, two projects created with all issues intact, but there is no attachments linked to the issues, even though I have tried these options:
a. Placing the 2 main attachment folders PROJA & PROJB under <jira_path>\import\attachments
b. Placing the 2 main attachment folders PROJA & PROJB under <jira_path>\data\attachments
Confirmed the user running this Jira instance has read/write access to both pahts in import\attachments & \data\attachments
Warning message I always got are a long bunch of:
WARN 01:00:54,029 Not saving attachment 'core dump.msg' for issue 'PROJA-1188', the file does not exist in the provided attachment directory.
WARN 01:00:54,029 Not saving attachment 'RE table1.msg' for issue 'PROJA-1234', the file does not exist in the provided attachment directory.
WARN 01:00:54,044 Not saving attachment 'RE review.msg' for issue 'PROJB-1988', the file does not exist in the provided attachment directory.
...
Searching Atlassian KB, option a. (import\attachments) appears to be the correct path for source attachment, and the PC plugin should then copy them to the target (data\attachments) but it didn't. Should they been ZIP up first, or has anyone come across similar problem and resolve that?
Hey @keng ,
As this is a Marketplace app, and I've never used it, I would recommend reaching out to the vendor directly via one of their support channels. Vendors are usually quite responsive (especially if you use their service desk, so they will probably be able to assist you here 👀
Cheers,
Tobi
This is the screenshot of where I import the ZIP file, in attachments path I used the target path = <jira_path>\data\attachments
