Problems closing sprints - "incomplete issues" warning, and carrying over into multiple sprints

When the team is trying close a sprint, we get a dialog saying for example "144 issues were incomplete" - even though there are nowhere near that many items in that sprint. No idea how that number is so high or what is incomplete.

Then they wind up carrying into the subsequent sprint, etc.

i would go to the Report sprint report and look for the incomplete and use view in issue navigator. or us jql (something like "sprints = mysprint" and resolution is empty") and see if you can find the 144. Once you have that then you likely will want to force the Resolution on any issues w/ a status of Done as I suspect that somewhere along the way some issues got moved to Done w/o a Resolution set.
