Hi

If I have a task that lasts N days  and I have a resource who will only be allocated to that task for a percentage of the N days.  i.e. a Testing Task that we schedule will take 40 days may require some support from a development resource to answer queries. I have make a provision for the developers time as I don't know how much will actually be required. I want to allocate them for 10% of their time over the 40 days to ensure I have  a budget for them. I may not need time from them every one of the 40 days but some days they will do a few hours work supporting the project.

How do I situation up in JIRA/Tempo? Thanks

In Jira Cloud with Tempo Timesheets or Tempo Planner, Jira doesn’t directly support fractional resource allocation across days, but you can model it through planned time. Create a Tempo Plan for that user on the issue and set the allocation to 10% across the 40-day period. In Tempo Planner, open the issue, select Plan Time, choose the user, set the start and end dates to match the task’s duration, and enter the total hours that represent 10% of their availability (for example, 32 hours if they work 8 hours per day over 40 days). Tempo will distribute that planned time evenly or let you adjust daily allocations manually.
