I have just receaved an email explaining that G Suite sync will improve with new features:

One of the new feature will be the ability to sync based on G Suite groups. And this will only be available on Atlassian Access.
What I don't undestand is that I have already been using this feature for at least a year (see screeenshot) and if I want to be able to use it after my 6 months upgrade is that I will need to pay more.
Did I miss something ?

I think the difference is:
One site x all sites
Sync your groups when you have more than one site
Up until now, we only ever synced groups to one site. Now you can sync groups from G Suite to your organization, and the groups will sync to all your sites.
Oh I hope so because when you have a look at the table below it isn't really clear.

Understood your point. Its not clear really if the current features will continue
from actual docs
If I were you, I would open a ticket to clarify this
