Hello JIRA Gurus,
I am currently in the preliminary stages of learning JIRA and could use some assistance in creating an automation process to standardize our ticket workflow.
More specifically, I would like to pre-populate the summary and description fields based on the label selected for each ticket. This will ensure consistency and efficiency in our ticket creation process.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or resources you could provide to help me achieve this goal. Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
I thank you in advance for your advise and help.
There are a couple of ideas here that ultimately result at you looking at automation.
At a second client we do a similar activity. The manager reviews the epics and will add observations and notes in a field for each story type. This gives him the opportunity to make notes on all the work in advance. When we run Story Creation, we also create an appropriate Confluence page tied to the Epic
Happy automation!
Hello @Raj Bansal
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Is this for a Service Management project or a Software project?
Jira does not have a native function for setting field values in the Create Issue dialog based on values selected in other fields. That sort of functionality would require a third party plugin such as Adaptavist's ScriptRunner that provides "Behaviours" functionality.
