Planning work requiring external teams

Hi,

Being a bit of a Jira newbie, is anyone able explain to me the intended purpose of the "Responsible Team" field in Jira Cloud, and how we can add new entries to the list?

We looking for a way to identify issues that are to be delivered by external teams, so that we can track status and any dependencies.

We are currently using the premium subscription, so we have Advanced Roadmaps available, and I'm aware that we have a similar capability there, but that uses a different field (Team) which can only be managed in Advanced Roadmaps.

Are you a Jira Administrator for your instance?

Is this a field you see in Company Managed projects or Team Managed projects?

My company has only the Standard subscription. "Responsible Team" is not a built in field for Jira Cloud, at least for the Standard subscription.

In your instance It may be a custom field added to your Jira instance by a Jira Administrator or by installation of a third party app. If you are not a Jira Administrator you would need to contact one of them for your instance to find out more about the field.

Thanks for the reply.

I have taken over administration of a Company Managed project, but I'm still trying to get up to speed. I've had a look at the custom fields and the field is listed there, together with a lot of others!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I'll have to see if I can unpick why it was created, but it looks like we might not need it now that we have upgraded to Premium.
