Permission Scheme change to allow Close Issue not working

I have changed the permission scheme to allow more groups to Close Issues, but they are still not able to do so. They have logged out and re-logged in. What do I have to do to make this permission change take effect?

Check the "conditions" on the close workflow transition.  I suspect you'll find it says "must have resolve issue permission" as well as "must have close issue permission".  If you're on more recent versions of Jira, you will also need to ensure they have "transition issue" permission.

I already had Resolve Issue, but I didn't have Transition Issue yet. That worked! Thank you!
