Hi,

I linked a PDF with file://.... in a task, but when I click on the link the files always opens within the Internet Explorer.

Is there a way that the file opens with the Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

I alredy checked my Add-Ons at the IE, but there is no active Adobe-Reader configured, thats why I guess this is not the problem.

What version of Windows and IE are you using here?   The steps to do this might be slightly different among the different versions of IE and Windows.

Since you don't see any adobe reader entries in the browser add-ons, it might not be possible to set this directly in IE just yet.  I am thinking you might have to change the file association on the windows control panel first before IE can understand what to do with these filetypes.  If you already have reader or acrobat installed, then check out this document from Adobe:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/pdfviewer.html

This provides a number of possible solutions you can use to make Acrobat open these files instead of having them display in browser.

Alternatively, Microsoft has explained how you can change the default programs and associate a file type with a program as in Change which programs Windows 7 uses by default.

I hope this helps.
