Only Service Desk Roles are available when adding people to a Software project

I am quite new at Jira so I've been doing tests creating some projects to check which one fits best with our needs.

My Jira instance has Jira Software and Jira Service Desk products. The thing is that when I create "Next-gen Projects", I have the option to choose between "Administrator", "Member" and "Viewer" roles when I add people to the project, but this is not happening when I create a "Classic Project" with a "Scrum" template. In this case, the only available roles are Service Desk roles (see attached screenshots) and I don't know why given that the project is using a Software template and not a Service Desk one.

 Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Hello,

It means that you have no other roles. Go to Jira Settings -> System -> Project Roles and make sure that there are other roles available.
