On a Jira Work Management board can you hide epics?

I setup my work management board with epics, tasks, and subtasks. I see epics in the board view and can't seem to remove them. Also, the epics in the timeline view are not represented with parent/child view like the list. Really would like the timeline to have that same hierarchy. Any clues?

The Work Management project timeline does not show the parent/child relationship between Epics and child issues. There is a change request for that here:

With regard to "removing" the Epics from the board, you can use the Filter option to select the issue types that you do want to show on the board. Don't include Epics in the selection.

thanks @Trudy Claspill forgot about the filter option, doh! So glad to see other's are frustrated with the timeline nesting issues!! Agree this is a bug and not a new feature!!!
