On Scrum Board, I want to customize card to visually display if Card is at risk or not

I want to be able to visually indicate if a  Story is at risk or "on track" on the team's Sprint board. 

For example: I would like to change the color of the card's background to red if the card is at risk and then be able to change is back to green once card is no longer at risk

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

You can use the Card Color option in the Board Settings to add a band of color to the left edge of cards. The color specification is done by matching the card to JQL statements that you enter for each color.

If you want to change the color of the entire card, you would need to look for a third party app. The native feature only adds a band of color.
