Old view use to show tick/checkboxes but now you have to select from a field

peter.moore October 26, 2020

Where I used to work there were tickboxes that were on the screen itself to tick if something had been done.  In the new JIRA I can't see a way to do this and the only way I've managed to do it is to select a checkbox field with an option which then means you have to select it from the drop down.

Feels a little convuluted.   I want to be able directly tick the chexkbox.  Can I still do this?

Hey Peter,

There is some flexibility in the New Issue View - you'll have to be an admin to adjust it for the issues you're referring to, but you should be able to expose that field so you can get to it easily.

Check this post, it describes how you can Pin the field you're referring to. See if this works for you, but if it doesn't you might want to consider temporarily swapping to the old view in your settings, and giving the Atlassian Team some feedback about that missing functionality when the popup asks for a reason:

This feels like a display issue with the new view. I couldn't find any good answers so I submitted a ticket here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-11239
