Hi, I have downloaded the newest mobile apps for Jira in my Android smartphone. When I input the URL of my Jira server, it prompts an error message: "Can't get a secure connection".
From the Chrome app, on my mobile the certificate looks good.
How I can solve this problem?
Hi.
True. The documentation is correct in that sense, but not giving more details about the mobile application, it is difficult to determine where the problem is.
I tell my story in case I could help someone else.
My platform is Jira server on windows 2012 server. Once migrated to SSL, what least helped resolve access from the application was that Chrome marked the digital certificate as perfectly valid. Clarify that the certificate of my installation is a wildcard of Sectigo, former Comodo. Access via SSL browser was perfect using chrome, both from Windows and from Android. Green padlock. Wonderful ... or not, as we will see now ...
While solving the access problem from the mobile application, I focused on fixing other small problems. I noticed that some widget on my dashboard did not display the title correctly. After much reading, I finally found the solution: Jira was not able to verify connectivity with himself ... simply because the Java machine did not recognize my certificate as trustworthy. The solution is as simple as adding it, which I did not get with the manual procedure, but using the "SSL for Jira" plugin, which although indicates that it is for other purposes, and you even get an error when adding my site. But finally add my Base URL as a trusted site, and from that moment on, the widgets are already displayed correctly, and the message disappears from the log:
"JIRA Does Not Start after Configuring SSL Due to Unspecified TrustStore or Keystore Path".
After this, I fought again with access from the mobile application. Everything seemed correct, an online SSL test showed no problems, but the application still did not access.
Until I thought there could be a problem following my certificate chain, only on my mobile. To check it, I installed firefox for android. And true! The certificate was not valid. How was this possible? Firefox for mobile does not offer more details. So I had to go to https://www.digicert.com/help/. I repeat once again, chrome for android certified the entire chain. But with the previous tool, I could verify that the test was not passed: "The certificate is not signed by a trusted authority (checking against Mozilla's root store). If you bought the certificate from a trusted authority, you probably just need to install one or more intermediate certificates. Contact your certificate provider for assistance doing this for your server platform. ".
As simple as going to the search engine and download both the certificate of the intermediate certification body, as the root, and install both on my android mobile. Problem solved!
P.S.: Gentlemen of Sectigo, believe me if I tell you that I have dreamed of you :-P
Thank you for sharing the details of the problem you were facing and how you managed to get it solved, @Carlos R. Alarcón
Have a nice day. :)

Hello Carlos,
Thank you for reaching out.
The error you are facing "Can't get a secure connection" usually happens when you've entered an HTTPS address, but the app can't get an HTTPS connection to your site which can be caused by one or more of the following reasons:
That being said, I suggest you try the resolution alternatives described in the KB below:
- 'Can't get a secure connection' error on Jira Server mobile app
Let me know if those steps fixed the problem.
