Notification Settings Not Working

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

Since the new notification upgrade was released, I changed my notification preference to receive an email only when mentioned on an issue. 

However, no I receive emails every single time there is any update or status change in Jira and I can't fix it. Am I doing something wrong, or is it the software?

@Larry Lubarsky Welcome to the Atlassian community

Have you tried changing them so you get no email notifications to see if that changes anything?  Or maybe selecting when you are assigned and unchecking you are mentioned to see if maybe it is a but or just did not save correctly?
