Not showing initials or picture on jira table (filter)

Hi, 

I'm bit new on managing Jira, so my question might be a noobie one. 
Company I just to work for used Jira, and they had this filter line with everybodies round litttle pic/initials on it right next to the "board"-text, and when you clicked on someone, you could see all their worktable filtered from the other workers. 

This made using jira and planning/meetings so much easier, since you could just clik the person and see what she/he was doing. 

Now, how in the world can I active that filter. As you can see from my screenshot, there's nothing there...

I suspect you are not seeing this because you are viewing the default board for business project. Is that possible? Do you have a software project you could check?nit should be there by default for those boards.

I checked, and your huntch was correct. 
The company I worked for earlier was indeed a software company, and therefore the projects were "software projects" and that's jira showed the "person filters / avatars". 
On business our projects they are not visible.
