@Marc Caldito

Are you trying to retrieve the local admin password?

Best,

Fadoua

Hi Faduoa,

Probably not or not sure. But whatever the account type is, the password reset email should be received right?

thank you,

Marc

Assuming that you configured properly the incoming/outgoing email, yes it should work?

When you configured the email, did you run the test from inside your Jira?

Fadoua

Hi Fadoua,

Where do I configure that? I just did a wizard install (next - next - next)... Didn't asked me for any mail server settings. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but somehow it must have kept the credentials.

thanks,

Marc

@Marc Caldito

let's go back in time then ☺️

When you say I downloaded it on my machine:

  • Is it a server or personal computer?
  • What version of Jira did you install?
  • What OS are you running?
  • The admin account with email address is one of the last steps once you configure the DB.
  • Are you using the embedded DB or another DB? If another DB what is it and what version?

Any other details will be helpful

I understand I am asking you too many questions, however it is the only way to better assist you.

Best,

Fadoua

It's downloaded on my PC running Win10. I don't remember configuring any mail servers and DB as I just clicked next and entered details asked.

Anyway I had it uninstalled and resolved to using the cloud version.

@Marc Caldito Unfortunately if you were using Mac OS you could have installed it using Docker.

It won't work on your PC. I think Cloud version is a good choice. When you sayclouud do you mean Atlassian Cloud ? or Cloud Services?

Best,

Fadoua
