Not receiving email notifications for a re-activated user

We have a Jira Software user that recently returned to the organization and had their profile re-activated.  Since then, they have not been able to receive email notifications from Jira.

Thus far, we have tried:

  • Reviewing all notification settings in the profile
  • Using notification helper which indicates the user should receive notifications
  • Reviewed all global and project notification schemes and validated other users are receiving email notifications
  • Checked with IT department and verified that emails are not being sent from the Jira email address to the user.  Nothing being blocked, spammed, or routed elsewhere.
  • Removed the user and re-added with the same email address.  (The user did receive the new invitation email)

Looking for help on next steps, settings, documentation, or additional troubleshooting we could try.

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Checking Jarod's email address, I was able to find two bounces. That's why the notifications were not being received.

550: 550 Invalid Recipient - https://community.mimecast.com/docs/DOC-1369#550 [4309kuSeMk2qPSA_ZtGl5Q.us309]

550: 550 #5.1.0 Address rejected.

I removed those bounces and also searched for blocks and bounces for the domain and found 87 for other email addresses and removed it.

Please, check if the user is now receiving notifications and let us know if it works.

Thanks so much Angelica... this seems to have resolved the email issues for our users.  I appreciate the quick response and resolution.
