Hello,
I am playing around with the Plan view in Jira software for the first time and am noticing that the view is not including all expected work items in its views and charts.
I am using a filter as the work source for my Plan; this filter returns 716 work items, but in the Work Item source page of plan settings, shows as only returning 332 work items.
Filter view:
Work item source view:
I have the same permissions levels for all projects/work items in the filter, so I cannot fathom why this is happening and it is making all of the charts and analysis, which would otherwise be incredibly helpful, meaningless.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Hello @Jessica Jones
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Review the information in the Removed Work Items tab.
There is an option there, for instance, to remove items that have been completed/done for longer than a specified period of time. By default that is set to 30 days.

I am having the same issue and when I go to "Work Item Source" and tab "Removed Work Items" I do not see the "Remove Work Using Rules" panel on the right.
This plan showed work perfectly till Thursday last week (10/30).
How can I get to that panel?

Hello @Maria Flores
Do other users that have permission to administer the same plan have the same problem as you are experiencing?
Have you tried any of the following?
Can you provide a screen image of what you are seeing?

Hi Trudy
I am an Admin and have full rights to everything. Everyone sees the same thing I'm seeing. In Chrome or Firefox. Below is what I see.
Thanks for your help!

Sorry for the spread out messages.

To make the Remove work using rules panel display you must click the View rules link. Did you do that?

I apologize for being so -non-focused or something-. I had not noticed that, I had read all as 'View releases'.
Yes, when I click there I can see the rules and adjust them accordingly.
Thanks!

I am having this same issue. After checking the age parameter as Trudy suggests above, I increased and it resolved the issue for me. I would submit that there should be a # populated in the "0 Work Items" card to show the # excluded based on age so that it is much more obvious what is occurring. Mine showed 0 like the examples above which is misleading. Thanks!
