I am very frustrated because not all WorkItems are showing up in the list view.

---

## Problem Summary

Issue **CX-42** does not display in the Project List View (`/projects/CX/list`) when sorted in **ascending order**, but displays correctly in **descending order** and in the **Board Backlog view**. All other issues in the project display correctly.

---

## Steps to Reproduce
1. Navigate To Jira
2. Ensure **no filters are active** (verified zero active filters)
3. Sort by **Key** column in **ascending order** (A→Z)
4. Observe: CX-41 appears, CX-43 appears, but **CX-42 is missing**
5. Change sort to **descending order** (Z→A)
6. Observe: **CX-42 now appears** in the list

---

## Expected Behavior

CX-42 should display in the List view regardless of sort order, positioned between CX-41 and CX-43 when sorted by Key in ascending order.

---

## Actual Behavior

| View Type | Sort Order | CX-42 Visible? |
|-----------|------------|----------------|
| Project List (`/list`) | Ascending (A→Z) | ❌ No |
| Project List (`/list`) | Descending (Z→A) | ✅ Yes |
| Project List (`/list`) | No sort (default rank) | ❌ No |
| Board Backlog (`/boards/145/backlog`) | N/A | ✅ Yes |

### Rank Field Comparison
CX-40: 0|i009kb: ✅ Displays in List
CX-41: 0|i009kj: ✅ Displays in List
CX-42: 0|i009kr: ❌ Does NOT display in List (ascending)
CX-43: 0|i009kz: ✅ Displays in List
CX-44: 0|i009l7: ✅ Displays in List
```
**Note:** The rank value for CX-42 (`0|i009kr:`) is correctly positioned between CX-41 and CX-43 alphabetically, confirming the rank is valid.
### Field Comparison Analysis
We performed a comprehensive field-by-field comparison of:
- CX-41 (displays correctly)
- CX-42 (does not display in ascending sort)
- CX-43 (displays correctly)
**Result:** All fields are **identical** across the three issues. No differences found in:
- Status
- Issue Type
- Project
- Labels
- Sprint assignment
- Parent/Epic links
- Resolution
- Archive status
- Any custom fields
## Troubleshooting Steps Attempted
### 1. ✅ Hard Browser Refresh
- Pressed Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
- Cleared browser cache
- Tested in Incognito mode
- **Result:** Issue persists
### 2. ✅ Re-ranking Issue
- Used REST API to re-rank CX-42 after CX-41
- Endpoint: `/rest/agile/1.0/issue/rank`
- **Result:** Rank unchanged, issue persists
### 3. ✅ Force Re-indexing
- Made trivial edit (added/removed space in description)
- Saved changes to force re-index
- **Result:** Issue persists
### 4. ✅ Verified No Filters Active
- Confirmed zero quick filters active
- Checked URL for filter parameters: none present
- Compared to working issues (CX-41, CX-43): identical
- **Result:** Issue persists
Hello @Nick Kramer
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
We had an incident last day which caused an issue with the work items missing from the List view. The incident has been fixed now.
In case you still come across this issue on your instance, you may reach out to the Atlassian Support here: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
Thank you!
Hello @Nick Kramer
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
First be advised that this is a user community, not the correct method for contacting Atlassian Technical Support.
I say that because in your post you included "Questions for Atlassian Support".
If you want to work directly with Atlassian support on this, your Jira Administrator needs to open a support case through Atlassian customer support portal at
https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
Given that we are a user community, we can offer advice and tips, but we have no direct access to your environment.
Second, this is a publicly accessible forum. As such, you should not post contact information like your email address, nor should you post the URL for your Jira site. I advise you to edit your post and remove that information.
I'm sorry I don't have an suggestions or solutions for otherwise addressing your problem. Your investigation seems to have been very thorough.
Hi @Nick Kramer !
Is it possible that this work item is part of a parent/child hierarchy (for example, a child of another issue, epic, or higher-level work item)?
In some cases, List View behaves differently when hierarchy or grouping is involved.
This is not part of the hierarchy:.
I create 2 similar work Items before and after this one, and they both show on the list view.  I have compared them and can find not difference other than the summary and descriptions
