Not able to move the stories from one column to another on my Thor 2Jira cloud board. If I move the stories, those comes back to original column 'In Progress'. All the stories are under same column. Can someone help me here. Thank!
Hi @Saurabh Abojwar
Thanks for the question.
When you drag an issue to another column, Jira is actually trying to transition it to a different workflow status. If it immediately jumps back to the original column, the transition is most likely being blocked.
I'd start by checking whether the transition has any required fields, validators, or conditions that might be preventing it from completing.
Are you seeing any error message when you drop the issue into the new column, or does it simply move back without any notification?
In relation to what @Gor Greyan is providing, check the history tab on the issue, what does this tell you.
Is the issue transitioned, and is there a follow-up action done, maybe automation?
Or is the status mapped in the column on the board even used in the Story workflow, if not, you can't move it to that column as the issue type can't transition to the workflow status mapped to the column.

Hello @Saurabh Abojwar
In addition to what they others have suggested I have a couple of suggestions.
First when viewing the board and trying to drag the card to the In Progress column, when you are ready to drop the card in the column do you see one or more boxes within the column showing a Status value within the box? And does the box become highlighted when you hold the card over it? While the column may be named "In Progress" the actual statuses mapped to the column may have different names.
Second I recommend that you open the detail view of the Story and click on the Status button to see if it shows a transition available there to the status mapped to the In Progress column. Example:
If there is not a transition there to the status mapped to the In Progress column either:
1. There is a Condition that the issue is required to meet in order to be transitioned, such as a field that must already have a value in it before the transition.
2. There is a Condition that applies to the user executing the transition, such as that person must be a member of a particular user group or have a specific permission.
3. There is not a path in the workflow to go directly from the current status to the In Progress status, and the issue must go through another status first.
If you see no options at all in the Status pull down, then you may not have permission at all within that Space to change the status of the items.
In all cases you will need assistance from the Space Administrators to investigate the problem in more detail.
