Not able to activate Goals in my project

Hi Community,

I have a problem with using Goals properly on my free Jira site.

  • I have activated Platform Experiences
  • I am able to create goals
  • I can link goals to issues

What I can't do is activate the Goals feature in my project (and get the "Goals" tab in the top bar)

When I try to activate it, I get the following information which does not make any sense to me as it is NOT activated.

Goals activation not possible.png

Do any of you have an idea what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance

Best regards

Claus

Yo, off-topic but since you posted that screenshot of the error, have you tried using Remakerai to enhance or edit images like that? It's this cool free AI tool for upscaling pics or even face-swapping if you wanna anonymize stuff in your Jira demos. I used it for some project visuals and it made everything look pro without much effort. Might help if you're sharing more screens in the community!

Hey everyone, I'm totally new to Jira and this thread is super helpful but kinda confusing for a noob like me. So, if you're able to create goals and link them to issues, but can't get the Goals tab to show up, does that mean the feature is half-working? Has anyone else run into this on a free account? Like, is there a workaround or do I need to upgrade? Thanks!

Hello @Claus Østergaard Pedersen ,

What is the type of the project/space where you are trying to enable the feature? Get that information from the Type column of the page listing all spaces/projects.

Are you following documentation/instructions to activate the feature? If so, can you provide a link to the instructions?

Hi @Trudy Claspill

It is a standard company-managed kanban project/space.

Yes, I'm following the dokumentation for activating goals, as I have done the following:

And as mentioned, I have no problem creating goals, linking them to work items and so forth. I can even see goals for items when looking at the list view of the project/space.

The only thing a can't get to work is activating the goal feature in the actual project/space as shown in the screen print in my original post.

Best regards

Claus

Hello @Claus Østergaard Pedersen

Thank you for that additional information.

Can you click on the "+" button along the tab bar to the right and see if Goals is listed there? If so click on it and click Add To Navigation.

Hi @Trudy Claspill

I did try that at the very beginning, but Goals are nowhere to be found - even when clicking the plus "+" button.

As my first screen print shows, there seems to be som kind of discrepancy - the slider for the feature "Goals" is clearly disabled, but the tooltip says it is "enabled by default and can't be disabled" - this does not make any sense and I'm starting to think this is a bug.

Unfortunately it is on my test-site which is on the free plan, so I can't create a ticket at Atlassian.

Best regards

Hello @Claus Østergaard Pedersen

If you have another site that is a paid subscription, create a ticket for that site. In your ticket let them know that the problem exists on a separate free site and give them the URL. If you are a paying customer I suspect that they will help you with your free site.
