No place to change Project Lead

Andrew Tjang July 17, 2018

I've searched the community posts and found several answers that don't seem to be relevant. I cannot find a way to change the project lead on JIRA.

Using: JIRA Cloud:

Jira 2806cf06

The Project Details page doesn't have a field for project lead.

In fact, project lead shows up nowhere except the project summary page, and is unchangeable.

Am I missing something obvious? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

That is because you created an Agility project. You can do much about it.

I did not realize that agility boards somehow had fewer permissions! Thank you. This was so frustrating to see solutions that didn't match my view. Here is the open ticket https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-68674 now that I know what the problem is. Thanks!

Ah, you're not a Jira administrator, so you only get limited access to change the configuration (including project lead).

I am an administrator. (I'm the account owner)

Andrew.

Please follow the following path.

1. Log in to your jira account.

2. In the projects drop down select the project you want to change the lead for.

3. In the upper right corner of the screen, right below issue search there is "Administer project" button.

4. You will see an administration summary page for that project. In the line that says JIRA Project:

click configure link.5. Under people you will see the default assingee, name of the current project lead, and roles. Click more link.6. On that page that comes up, click little pencil icon next to project lead, and choose a new user to be the project lead.

Neil

Are you on Server or Cloud?

Took another look. You must be on cloud. Follow Alexey Matveev [cPrime] image instructions.

It should be under Project Details page under Users and Roles section of project to change Project Lead Andrew

Andrew Tjang July 17, 2018
