Is it possible to create tasks in a story instead of sub-tasks?

when i click create child issue in a story, it automatically creates sub-tasks. I want to be able to create tasks not and not sub-task..

please advice

Unfortunately, you cannot create tasks in a story. The only supported option is sb-tasks. Story and Task in Jira are all at the same issue type level.
