Next-Gen project is not available for me. Is there a work around?

I am self training on Jira through udemy - on the training video there is a section on next-gen but the free version of Jira that I have does not have next-gen.  Is there a work around to get the next-gen to function so that i can work with it for a like a week or two?

Atlassian has renamed next-gen projects and classic projects to team-managed and company-managed projects, and you can find out more information about it hear, What are team-managed and company-managed projects

And if you can’t create a team manager project check with your admin to make sure he or she has enabled the ability to create those projects
