Next Gen Project - How do I see and Edit the Description Area?

I am starting a next gen project in JIRA and I have Admin access.

However, I cannot edit the description area shown below.  In fact when I go to add new fields, there is no description area that I can even update.  The 2nd photo is all I get within my JIRA instance.  What am I missing in order to add fields and be able to edit the description area?

Hello Thomas,

The ability to customize the Description Area of Next-gen projects is something that our developers are still working to implement.

I have created a new feature request requiring this possibility two weeks ago:

- Allow the customization of the Description Area on Next-gen

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

In fact, the description area was not even displaying as an option in the Issue layout when I created the mentioned feature request, so I believe our developers are currently working to get it implemented soon.
