I've set up a Next Gen Project with a board, using a workflow to control via Roles who can do what.
When I'm moving an Issue from "To-Do Status" to a "In-Progress Status" , I want a Notification to be fired to a group of people in a defined custom Role.
In the Project Settings/Access I've defined the people in that custom Role (one of them being myself), in the Project Settings/Notifications the Events that need to fire the Notification show the Role as Recipient.
After creating a new issue and moving it to the "In-Progess" column the right hand side Notifications bar doesn't show any action, no e-mail is triggered either.
Any suggestions?
He Edwin,
How are you placing a Notification on the Transition to the In Progress column? I see no functionality for that in the Notifications section.
I was expecting that a Status change would be a "change" to the Issue and thus the Event "Issue Updated" or "Issue Moved" will trigger a Notification? I guess that's not true.
Updates to Issue content like Assignee, do trigger the Notification, which I do receive by e-mail - but not in the Notification bar.

Issue Moved would be a Move to another project - not a move to another status.
Interesting that Issue Updated does not include the issue changing statuses.

Hi John,
Thanks for the input, the "Issue Moved" I figured out while tinkering with the settings.
I've also found a work around to use a Transition Rule to update a Field (Label), this then triggers the Notification message for "Issue Updates".
Would very much prefer the Status Changes to be the trigger, now I need to modify some Transitions with this workaround.
Thanks anyway.

Cool - glad you figured something out.
I also failed to mention that you could probably just create an Automation For Jira rule and send your notification that way.

Probably best to submit a ticket here:
