New screen layout for Jira, will it be optional

Has anyone figured out of the new view screen for issues in software projects will be the only view? Or will we be able to override that layout with our custom screen layouts?

Hello Kathy,

I hope you are having a nice day.

The new issue view is optional for now, however, we plan to make it the official and only view available for JIRA.

Of course, we see that the new issue view is still missing several features and have some bugs (Security levels, Time tracking, etc) that are blockers to several customers, so we are not planning to get it implemented with no way to turn it off before getting this view completely working.

If you have any specific feature that you are missing in the new issue view, please feel free to check if it was not already reported in our jira.atlassian.com and report it.
