I logged in today to see that an update now includes buttons for every quick filter I have listed under the drop-down filter menus.
Not only does this duplicate the Quick Filter drop-down menu, it fills almost half of my screen.
I can't find any toggle to turn off this new display method.
Am I just going to have to completely remove all of my quick filters to get enough screen space back to work my active board?
Hi @Ann Wilson when I click on 'Quick Filters' there's a slider at the bottom that says 'Show quick filters'. If this is on, I'm seeing the behavior you are seeing. Is yours possibly turned on? If I slide it back to 'off' I don't see them all broken out like you're seeing.
Hope that helps.
Hi @Ann Wilson
We identified an issue with some back-end changes we're in the process of making that caused the "Show quick filters" toggle to stop working. Thanks for flagging this, it should be fixed for everyone know but if you're still having issues turning the Quick Filters off please reach out to our technical support teams here.

Hi Ann,
You are definitely not alone! This new UI update, which moves Quick Filters from a tidy dropdown menu into a multi-row button display, has been quite a shock for users with complex boards.
As of right now, there is no global toggle to revert back to the old dropdown-only view, but here are the best ways to reclaim your screen space:
Check the "Group" or "More" dropdown: Look at the top right of your filter area (near where it says "Group: Queries" in your screenshot). Atlassian is testing different grouping methods. If you click the "More" dropdown, it sometimes forces the remaining filters back into a list instead of showing them as individual buttons.
Consolidate your Filters: Since Jira is now displaying every single filter as a button, you might want to review your board settings. If you have multiple filters that do similar things (e.g., "Priority: High" and "Priority: Critical"), you could combine them into one JQL query to reduce the number of buttons on your screen.
The "Full Screen" Mode: To temporarily ignore the filter rows and focus on your work, you can press "Z" on your keyboard (the shortcut for "Zen Mode" or Full Screen). This hides some of the sidebar and header elements, giving you more vertical space for your columns.
Official Feedback is Vital: Because this is a very recent change, the product team is looking for reports just like yours. Please click your Avatar > Give Feedback and specifically mention that "The new Quick Filter row makes the board unusable on standard monitor sizes."
I hope they add a "Collapse" option for this row soon! In the meantime, does the keyboard shortcut "Z" help you get enough space back to manage your sprint?
