Hi all,

I have a problem while  creating new projects based on another one.

I have just created a new project based in another, using same project settings, configuration, screens, etc.. .

The problem is that even using same schemes for everything, some of the fiels do not appear on the screen in the new project issues (notice  "view all" its selected, there are simple not in the list ). Neither JIRA is able to recognize the missing fields from an csv file.

I have also tried to create the project from scratch, but same result.

This is making imposible to me uploading issues on a csv file or even creating any type of issue manually. Since some mandatory fields do not appear on the  issue screen and then it does not even allow to create it.

Any idea how to solve this?

Hi Victor - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It sounds like the fields that are not showing up probably have a Context attached to them for the original project. But you have to manually update the Context to add any newly created projects. Creating the project based on an existing project will NOT update Custom Field Context values.

What mechanism are you using to create the new project?

When I last used JIRA Server (v7.13) I recall that you could go to the Create project interface and select something like Shared Configuration, and select another project that you wanted the new project to be configured like. Then the new project has the same schemes assigned to it as the original project.

If you are using some other mechanism where the setting of Schemes assigned to the new project is not automatically the same as the source project, then I would suggest that you look at the Field Configuration Scheme assigned to the new project and ensure that setting matches the source project.

Can you provide screen images of the Project Settings > Summary screen for the source and new projects?
