Need to restrict Due Date after Issue is Created

Hi Team,

We need to restrict Due Date after Issue is Created. Only the the project administrator can can change the Due Date.

How can we achieve this  ?

Hi @Santhosh Raj 

If a separate workflow action doesn't work for you, you can also look at workflow permissions based on status. Editing due date is controlled by "Schedule Issue" permission and you can restrict this permission to selected roles at any stages in the workflow.

If you want to restrict it all stages, just modify the permission scheme accordingly.

Jira doesn't have field level security. I suggest you remove the field from the edit screen and create a transition only the project administrator can execute that has it on the transition screen.

Possibly. We don't use automation. If the person who wrote the automation leaves the successor may not be familiar with automation to update if needed. I suggest you post a new question specifically asking if automation can restrict editing of fields
