We have a project where we track slightly sensitive information. We are fine with this info living our Jira instance, but need to prevent it from being included with any email notifications about the ticket. I cannot find any where to limit what gets sent in notifications. Is there an Add-on or workaround anyone can recommend to limit content of email notifications for one particular project?

Currently, it's not possible to edit notifications for agents, we have a feature request suggesting the implementation of such ability:

For customers, it's possible to edit the information, but customer notifications are very restricted and they only receive comments and transitions.
There is an add-on that may help you in this case:
- Enterprise Email Handler for Jira (JEMH)
You can test for 30 days and check if it will work for you.

Thanks Angelica - Sounds like that is an answer for Jira Service Desk. We're planning to use Jira Software - does that change the answer at all?

Unfortunately no, because for Jira Software the customers/users will receive the system notifications and it's not possible to customize this emails.
You can test the add-on that provides the option to edit the notifications.
