Need a Custom Field with Pre-Defined List of Assignees

Our software development team has a group of database programmers to whom we will temporarily assign tasks for specific database programming requests. I have already created this in our Team-Managed projects; I am now trying to duplicate this in a couple of our Company-Managed projects.

I have created the DB_Programmer custom field in a custom issue-type; I have created a Configuration Scheme for this issue-type; I have also created a Context for this. In this Context, there is a selection for User Filtering, which is supposed to provide potential matches for type-ahead. I select Group and the pre-defined Jira Group that contains a list of Jira Users who are the designated DB Programmers for the software development team who will be assigned this issue-type using this DB_Programmer field.

The DB_Programmer custom field appears in the issue screen, but when I attempt to type one of the names of the pre-defined DB Programmer names, no name-match occurs. In the Team-Managed version of this field, I was able to define a drop-down list of assignees and could then just click on the desired name. Can I/how do I get the same/equivalent feature in the Company-Managed project?

LATE UPDATE: I was able to assign the DB_Programmer group to the field and the type-ahead selection now works. Is there a way to have this group appear as a drop-down selection list?

As always, my sincere Thanks to this Community.
