Hello Community,
I am making a project which includes ITSM and IT Infrastructure and hence need a workflow which can cater to both. The issue I am facing is that both of them have different workflow nomenclatures that are followed, for example there is a site readiness step in IT infrastructure whereas this step cannot be used for ITSM . So I need suggestions which can help me incorporate both in a single workflow. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.
Welcome to community.
At a very top level I would recommend that you use different issue types so they can have different workflows. However that doesn't mean they should have different statuses. The nomenclature you are talking about should be what teams use to define their columns, but on the back end the statuses should be more generic so they can be reused.
However overall this is a very complex topic so if you are new to Jira overall I would recommend the Jira Admin Trainings [1]
Overall it will be hard for members here to recommend a specific workflow as workflows are very much based on the organization they are made for. There is no one size fits all.
Hope this helps,
Clark
Hi,
I was able to create bifurcations in my existing workflow by which I was able to have three different workflows in a single project and in a single issue type which allowed my users to opt for workflows according to their requirement. Thank you for your Kind response.
