Hi,
I know there is a lot of discussion on this topic and I've found many post with simular issues, but none that have my exact issue.
When I test the mail handler it will create an new user as asked, but then fails to create the issue since the user does not hav sufficient rights. The exact message is:
Creating user 'xxxx'.
Cannot create issue due to invalid license: [Sorry, you can't create any issues right now, as you need to have access to a Jira application to be able to create issues. To gain application access you need to be a member of a group assigned to an application.]
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Kind regards,
Daniel
Hello,
Go to cog item -> Applications -> Application access. Then find the "set defaults for new users" button and mark Jira Software as the default access application.
In this case each created user will have a Jira Software license upon creation.
Hi, thank you for your fast responds.
If I do that I assume I will have to pay a licence fee for all users create via E-mail. I was expecting this function would create a new customer and log the issue on their behalf.

I got it t work with a default user, but now the issue show as if they where created by us instead of the e-mailer.
Can we get this to work like the generates <project>@<application>.atlessian.net mail adresses?
Kind regards,
Daniel

You would need to create a email handler in the service desk project:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskcloud/receiving-requests-by-email-747602718.html
Also you need to set the settings "Anyone can email the service desk or raise a request in the portal" (project settings -> customer permission) and Public Signup to "Yes, project administrators can allow anyone to email the service desk or raise a request in the portal" (Applications -> Jira Service Desk -> Configuration).
It would create a new user as a customer

Thanks You, I found the option. Unfortunately th doesn't allow me to use IMAP folders so I'll stick to the service user.
