I created a new release in JIRA tagging applicable issues but for some reason instead of showing up at the top of the version/release list its at the very bottom. I see it when i filter the release date to ascending order or search for the release (As an example, i have version 6.2.1, 6.3.1, 6.4.1, 6.5.1.6.6.1, 6.7.1, 6.8.1, 6.9.1 showing up sequentially however 6.10.1 goes to the bottom) I have re-edited 6.10.1 to ensure there are no spaces but its not not showing up sequentially in the release history.  Has anyone come across this and how to fix?

Hi @Yemi Adebisi -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The default release view is a bit confusing, and there are suggestions to improve it.

What you are seeing is:

  • Upon entering the releases view, they are shown in release order, with the next release (by creation date, not release date or number) at the bottom
  • When you add a new release, it goes to the top of the list
  • If you have not altered the sort order, you may drag-and-drop to change the release order.  If you have selected a column to change the sort order, just exit to another view and then return to the releases view before dragging to change.

Best regards,

Bill
