I am trying to move a story from an epic to current sprint. The particular story is not showing up in backlog. What options do i have to move that story to a particular sprint.

If a story is not in a backlog, it will not be able to appear on the associated board as well (a backlog is a part of a board, and they select the same set of issues)

You will need to amend the issue, changing it so that the board and backlog select it, or amend the board's filter so that it selects it.

Hi @Sravani Madala and welcome to the community!

I'm not sure I understand your intent here so I'll give two options depending upon your meaning:

  • If it is your intent that the story appears in the backlog, you'll need to look at your board query to make sure it's inclusive of all desired issues.
  • If it is your intent to include a story from another board/project in the sprint, you would need to edit the sprint field manually on that specific issue either by adding the sprint field to the issue screen or by querying for the issue and performing a bulk edit.
    • Note - I'm not sure of the value in doing something like this as you'd only be able to see the issue in relation to the sprint via a JQL query

Hope this helps.
