Move a task and leave the epic of the previous project behind

amelian June 29, 2020

Hi all!
I have this question, I recently created a new project and migrated some tasks from another to it, but for some reason I can't see where to unlink the epic from the other project. On the board there is a shading under the card and it shows me which epic of the other project is linked.
If I search the issues related to the epic it does not appear because it is not in your project. The only way I have found so far to get it out is to go back to the previous project and remove the link from the epic. If you know a simpler way, please let me know! A piece of information not less than the original epic was a next-gen project and the new one a classic.
From already thank you very much!

Try to delete the epic link in the task itself

Hi! there isn´t a epic link when I enter in the issue. Only appear if I move the issue to the previus project.

Are you moving the issue to a next gen project by chance. Regardless, can you clear the epic link before moving?

I'm moving it from a next gen to a classic, only when I return it to the next gen does it allow me to remove the epic. Do you know other way?. Or maybe I can´t see where the link appear.

Ah yes, as I suspected. The reason is that the relationships between epics and child tasks in NG is quite different and the Epic link from Classic Doesn’t translated to NG. You will want to disconnect the task from the epic in Classic before moving.

Thanks!
