Missing backlog on Kanban Project

Louise Campbell July 28, 2023

I have set up a Kanban, Company Managed project and on the Kanban board itself I can see columns 'Backlog' 'Selected for Development' 'In Progress' and 'Done' but I cannot work out why I can't see backlog on the left hand panel ie below 'Timeline'. Is anyone able to assist me please? Is it because it is a Kanban Project which means I don't get that view? Thanks

Just in case anyone else finds this question, the Backlog is an optional setting for Kanban Boards.

To add it, you need to be a Board Admin, and then...

  1. On your board, in the upper-right corner select the breadcrumbs (3-dots icon)
  2. Select Configure Board / Board Settings
  3. From the left-hand menu, select Columns
  4. Drag status(es) into the "Kanban Backlog" column

^ This will add the Backlog. The Statuses in this column will only display in the Backlog tab from now on.

You can also activate the "Epics Panel" from the Columns screen, if you'd like this to be visible on the Backlog. Deactivating this setting allows Epics to be visible on the board as cards.

Actually I have just answered my own question - via board settings!
