Missing Jira IDs in Issue List

Nikil Jayasuriya January 8, 2024

I am maintaining a Jira Kanban board to track client Jira tickets. I have noticed that some IDs are missing as highlighted in the image below. Notice that VO-4 and VO-5 are missing. I have subscribed to an email notification for all logged tickets and haven't received any mail with the mentioned ID as well. Hence it makes me believe that the Jira ticket has not been moved to a separate project as well but simply skipped. If that's the case, what would be the reason for this?

Hi @Nikil Jayasuriya ,

There are a couple of reasons why these issues may be missing:

  • they have been deleted
  • they have been moved to a different project
  • they are not visible to you because issue level security is hiding them for you

In all cases, someone has done a manipulation to the issues (delete, move or update the security level). If you search for the issues by key and they are not found, either they have been deleted or you don't have permission to see them.

Hope this clarifies!

Hi @Walter Buggenhout thank you very much for your response. I have administrator view hence issue level security should not be an issue. If in case they were deleted or moved, is there any way I can view this change history?

This has been rectified, it was since clone tickets were created and moved for internal reference out of the client tickets raised. Thank you!
