Mismatching logged time

Hi there!

I am trying to generate a new monthly report for time logged against projects.

However I am running into a problem, one of my users has 164 hours logged for the month of November. I've seen their timesheet on their monitor and can see all the hours logged, but when I go and view their timesheet on my end or generate a report a massive chunk of hours are missing.

I've checked their user account and they have all the same permissions as the other users whos logged time I can see.

Since you're using Tempo you need to make sure you have permissions in multiple locations:

1. Global permissions to access the timesheet in general (that seems ok as you can see some hours)
2. In Tempo you have the Permission Roles, there you need to have access to the correct resources/users
3. On the projects/spaces themselves you also need to have the proper role which as the View Issue Hours and View All Worklogs

If those are fine, I'd suggest to look at the timesheet on the user's computer and find one or more work items that you cannot see. Often that's the easiest if you have a specific day where you're missing time.

Also make sure the work item itself is visible to you and there's no issue level security set on the work item which is preventing you from seeing the details.

Based on that (single) work item you can try and single out what permission is missing!

I see you added a tag for Tempo to your post. Is Tempo being used to log the time and generate the report?

I don't work with Tempo, but here are some things I would check:

Identify the issues against which the missing time is logged.

Is all the time logged for these issues missing from your view of the report?

Are the affected issues all from the same project?

Is time from all issues for particular projects missing?

Do the users where you can see all the time have time logged against any of the same issues or the same projects?

Do you have access to view the issues? Project permissions and roles or Issue Security settings may prevent you from viewing the issues, which might impact what you see in the Tempo report.

I suspect you are using a 3rd party integration from time logging, what app are you using.

I see you labeled Tempo

Do you have enough permissions in the app to view all logged time, or do you have permission in all projects where the user has logged time on a work item?

And do you have access to the tempo teams the user is in?

Most of the time this kind of issue relates to permission mismatches.
