Migrating a project from Classic Software to Next-gen Software

Hi,

I need to add roadmaps to my Jira software project and link backlog user stories to epics from the roadmap. However, I see this feature is only available for next-gen software. My project was created as a classic software and I already have sprints completed, sprints ongoing + a full backlog in it. I'm interested in how I can convert my classic software project into a next-gen project and how can I do this without any data/settings from my classic software being lost. 

I know there was already a question about this topic in the forum, but it's from 2018, and Jira has changed a lot of things since then. Maybe this migration was also part of the changes.

Hi @Ana-Maria Erascu , this article is current for migration AFAIK - migrate-between-next-gen-and-classic-projects 

while I have not done this myself my expectations are that there will be limitations and possible data loss. For sure if you have a complex classic project and associated workflows this will be the case. In the end it’s a manual process.
