I need to use Smart Jira Forms field values in JQL searches. Currently, to make these values searchable, I must:

  1. Create matching Jira custom fields
  2. Configure them to be recognized by Smart Jira Forms
  3. Map them using the "Update existing fields" option

Question: Is there a way to bypass this step and have Jira Form fields automatically work with JQL search?

@Paul Benkman welcome to the Atlassian community

JQL only searches Jira fields.  So you will have to map the field to a Jira field as you stated.  Rovo has the ability to search forms information, but I don't know if that would work for your need.  https://help.saasjet.com/forms/rovo-agent-with-smart-forms-for-jira

Hi Paul - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

As Brant says, that is not available in JQL unless you have mapped a field. I am marking Brant's answer as Accepted, but please let us know if you still have questions.
