Hi Team,
I've created one Manual trigger and trying to run from the JIRA issue, but I'm not able to see that trigger name under Issue->Automation button->List !
However, I've created the automatic trigger for the same requirement and tested successfully.
Kindly guide.
Thanks,
Sweta Shah
Hi @Sweta Shah, first thing to rule out is the menu itself. Around March 2023 manual rules were moved out of the old Automation list and into the Actions dropdown next to the Status button on the issue, the same place looped workflow transitions appear. Open that on your test issue first.
If it's still not showing, open the Manual trigger component in the rule. That trigger can carry an issue-type or status filter, and once one is set the rule only appears on issues that match it. It also lets you restrict which groups can run it, so it stays hidden unless your account is in an allowed group.
After that it comes down to the basics Marc raised, the rule being enabled and its scope covering this project.
Atlassian's announcement about manual rules moving to the Actions menu walks through the new location.
Morning @Sweta Shah
Who (via Groups) can trigger the automation, what work types and other conditions it can be triggered on are configured in the automation trigger:
I would check the trigger in the related automation. If you can trigger other manual automations from other work items in the same Space, it should be limit the issue to the specific automation trigger configuration. If you could post a screenshot of the trigger that might help guide the answer as well.
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks!
Brandon

Thanks for your response.
Scope:
Manual trigger can be run by "jira-users"
"Show manual trigger for" -> Work type = "Deliverable"
Condition 1->specific reporter emailID
Condition 2->specific work-item number
1 action -> to change assignee to myself
I hope it helps to understand.
Yes, I'm testing under correct space. I tried to check the same with rule created but its automatic (i.e., trigger when work item updated, tested successfully)

Hi @Sweta Shah
there could be multiple reasons for that. Maybe your not in the correct work item hierarchy. Or you're not on the work type. Maybe the Flow is restricted to a specific Space. Or it is restricted to a specific group (even if you are admin you need to add the admin group to this setting, admins are not allowed to run restricted flows by default).
Hope this helps to at least narrow down the issue.

Markus

Thanks Markus for you response.
I'm reconfirming all these mentioned pointers.
Thanks again.

Hi @Sweta Shah
What is the scope of the automation rule, is the correct space set and who can initiate the rule and the manual trigger?

Hi @Marc -Devoteam- ,
"Show manual trigger for" -> Work type = "Deliverable"
2 conditions
1 action -> to change assignee to myself
I hope it helps to understand.

Hi @Sweta Shah
No the rule details, what is in the section where the name of the rule is defined, there you can see the rule scope.
What is the scope set too?

Hi @Sweta Shah
What Marc means is the Scope of the Flow. You can set it in the Flow Details:
Also on a side note: I'm not sure what you mean by work-item number, but if you mean the Key of the work item (TEST-123) then this Flow will only work on this exact work item and no other work item. The Key is always unique. So that might be to restrictive.

Thanks for clarification.
Scope is the programme space in which both, the work item & trigger are there.
Yes, I've specified particular key for testing purpose only.

Hi @Sweta Shah
Is the issue you want to run the automation on of the type "Deliverable", as you mention this in your rule setup as a condition?
