Hi all, is it possible to grant permissions to a project for a whole company i.e. my external dev agency partner. I am a Product Owner not an expert in Jira admin so have to ask my outsourced IT support to add individual addresses every time someone joins or leaves the agency, or when devs get pulled onto the account to bring expertise or bandwidth when needed. The ideal for me would be to grant permissions to *@devagencyname.com. Is this possible?
you can configure approved domains in Jira so that users with this domain can create an account for themselves in a self-serve way as you like.
However, by default these users will have access to all features which you've configured to see for every user. In order to solve this, I'd recommend to ensure that every permission scheme in your Jira does not allow anything for users without specific Jira groups or roles.
After they've signed up via this way, you could add them to your project yourself (assuming you have Jira project admin permissions). Unfortunately, I don't know of an automated way how to do this part.
Hope that helps,
Matthias.
thanks so much for the reply Matthias. Very useful. So I think I need to find out if our company already manage all projects like this, if so could be a winner, if not I'll need to think again. Most importantly I know what my options are now, so many thanks for taking the trouble....
